I’ve had the pleasure of illustrating several sequences from a young adult science fiction novel. It is based on the historical COVID-19 pandemic that occurred in 2020.
About the book:
2020 will be ‘that year’ in our memories forever. A teenager with a charred body, fractured bones, and a lot of unexplained issues shows up in the Lozoya Valley just before the global coronavirus and COVID-19 pandemic breaks out. The treatment of Dr. Martina Valtierra, with whom the strange patient has a very unusual relationship that will determine his fate, saves him from death. Doctor of physics Francisco Simón is developing an invention that has the potential to alter history forever in the meantime. However, the doctor won’t find out until 2044, when the world is confronted with a deadly new virus that will cause the second pandemic of the twenty-first century.
This science fiction novel, inspired by real events, utilizes the proliferation of deadly viruses as its narrative backbone. It envisions the potential aftermath of the “new normal,” offering a speculative glimpse into future realities.
